New Horizons is a group of widowed, divorced, separated, and single women, mostly senior citizens.  Our goals are fun and friendship.  We get together regularly (once or twice a month) to see plays, movies, musicals, and interesting places around Atlanta and North Georgia, usually in the daytime rather than evenings.  We always have either lunch or dinner together while we’re out.  Some of us live alone and really enjoy each other’s company for these meals.

Although this is similar to the 55 Plus Group, it fulfills a different need; women who generally had spouses previously and now can get together with other women in a similar situation.  Some of our members are new to the area and living with their adult children, and do not know women of their own age group or have a means of meeting them. This group provides a way to connect, either in person or just over the telephone.
